European legislation imposes requirements on nuclear/radioactive sources to prevent them from getting into the wrong hands. It is vitally important to regulate this properly. Radioactive medication is used daily in health care. Senior consultant Jan van Eck has drawn up security plans for all radioactive sources of both organisations, including an improvement plan and a GAP analysis, for one of the world's leading manufacturers and for a University Hospital in the Netherlands. After realisation of the improvement plan, we carried out an audit.
The plans and the measures have been audited by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, which is responsible for the implementation of the European regulations, and found to be fully approved. According to the clients, this is the first time that the plans have been directly approved.
The university hospital has been a client for many years and the relationship with Jan can be called special. We work in a collegial way. An open relationship that leads to extra commitment.
Incidentally, this test method is and can also be applied in projects where there is a high risk or a vital interest for other reasons.
